single exhibition at
gallery Bildetage
Barichgasse 6, 1030 Vienna
12.5. – 29. 6. 2012, in the gallery window / im Schaufenster

I will present some aspects of my art- and science project fleabag on the 10th IEEE international Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality, ISMAR 2011, in Basel, Switzerland, 26.10 – 29.10.2011, in the Arts, Media and Humanities programme.
Abstract of the presentation:
“Water in Augmented Space”
Water is both space and media at one and the same time. However, using only our human senses, we can hardly read the information that it carries. Augmenting this reality with the use of computer vision integrated into a biomonitoring system, we are able to read the water quality, at least as data values, in real time.
In the art and science project fleabag, the data values relating to water quality of a river will be analysed using this AR technology, and then transformed artistically to expand the human perceptual range through a sensually comprehensible, visual and physical presence on the river side, “augmenting space“ as Lev Manovich once defined this term.

I was invited to the “AquaLife 2010″ seminar at the Kiel Innovation and Technology Centre (KITZ) to hold a lecture about “water quality as a means for artistic intervention in a public space” (see art & science project fleabag (for media facade). I joined there a nice group of scientists who work on exciting researches in the field of water: The presentations covered the use of early warning systems, water security, risk management and biomonitoring instruments in Germany, the Netherlands and around the world. Take a look – and see, for example, why you should not eat the “fish’n'chips” from the G. Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries

Just some of the nice game results from exhibition visitors who played the SecondSquat Game!
Finding their way through the spatial game SecondSquat, the players left movement tracks, which at the same time shaped a new architecture. This generative result architecture was then automatically pasted into SecondSquat Utopia and placed onto a free “land piece”.

Here are some impressions from the “Q202 Atelierrundgang”. An open house event in Vienna. Many studios open their doors for 3 days for everyone who is interested. It was wonderful to meet all the curious people, have some nice talk and laughing.
